Essential amino acids (EAAs) are the nine amino acids the body cannot synthesize and must obtain from diet: leucine, isoleucine, valine, lysine, methionine, threonine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, and histidine. While BCAA supplementation focuses on just three of these, more recent research consistently shows that complete EAA blends produce a stronger and more sustained muscle protein synthesis response, because all nine amino acids are required to build new muscle tissue. EAAs are particularly useful for older adults (whose anabolic resistance demands a stronger leucine threshold), fasted training, and people pursuing recomposition. Standard dose is 5-15 g per serving, taken before or during training.
All 9 essential amino acids in optimal ratios. More effective than BCAAs alone for triggering muscle protein synthesis.
