What is Lithium Orotate?
Lithium is a naturally occurring trace mineral found in drinking water, vegetables, and grains. While high-dose lithium carbonate (600-1,800 mg) is a prescription medication for bipolar disorder, micro-dose lithium orotate (typically 5-20 mg of elemental lithium) supplies just a fraction of that amount, closer to the range found in mineral-rich drinking water. Epidemiological studies have observed that populations with higher lithium content in their water supply show lower rates of mood disorders, suicide, and dementia. Research suggests microdose lithium may support neuroprotection, mood stability, and cellular repair pathways. People with diagnosed mood disorders or on lithium medication should not use this without clinician supervision.
