Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is a direct precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a coenzyme present in every cell that powers mitochondrial energy production, DNA repair, and sirtuin activity. NAD+ levels decline roughly 50% between age 40 and 60, and this drop is now considered a hallmark of biological aging. Human trials with NMN at 250-900 mg/day have shown improvements in NAD+ blood levels, walking endurance, insulin sensitivity, and self-reported energy. NMN was popularized by longevity researcher Dr. David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School. The standard daily dose is 250-500 mg taken in the morning, often paired with TMG as a methyl donor.
