What is Chaga Mushroom?
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a parasitic fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold northern climates. Used for centuries in Russian and Northern European folk medicine, chaga has one of the highest measured antioxidant capacities of any food. Its primary actives, betulinic acid, melanin, and beta-glucans, support immune balance and have been investigated for inflammation, gastric ulcer, and metabolic health. Look for dual-extracted forms (both water and alcohol extraction) to capture both water-soluble and fat-soluble compounds. Standard dose is 500-2000 mg of extract per day.
