What is D-Aspartic Acid?
D-Aspartic acid (DAA) is the D-isomer of the amino acid aspartate, concentrated in the pituitary gland and testes. It acts as a neurotransmitter that stimulates the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and growth hormone. Studies in untrained men with low baseline testosterone show 30-60% increases in serum testosterone over 12 days at 3 g/day. Results in trained athletes with normal testosterone are more modest. DAA should be cycled (4-6 weeks on, 2 weeks off) to maintain effectiveness. Standard dose is 3 g per day in the morning.
