Best time to take Melatonin
Take a low dose of melatonin 30 to 60 minutes before your target bedtime.
Melatonin is a timing signal, not a sedative, so when you take it matters more than how much. A small dose shortly before bed shifts your clock toward sleep; more is not better and can leave you groggy.
Take 0.5 to 1 mg about 30 to 60 minutes before bed. For jet lag, dose at bedtime in your destination time zone.
High doses and late-night dosing cause next-day grogginess.
